The 'Fast Flyer' series of ships were some of the speediest spacecraft in the first days of Classic Space. Their large canopies were the result of early radar sets being temperamental and unreliable. Spacemen needed to be able to access the recalcitrant apparatus in mid-flight, in order to bash it with a hammer, spanner or chunk of moon-rock. The easiest solution was to put the radar inside the cockpit, with the pilot.
Excess heat from the radar sets helped to warm the cockpit in the cold void of space. At least one near fatal crash occurred due to a spaceman using the avionics to warm up a Ginsters Cornish pasty*. He had bought it from the spaceport buffet, in case he got peckish on a particularly long space flight.
You can download the LDD .lxf file of this model by following this link.

Some notes concerning illegal connections:
• Rocket pod: use the tube ends as rocket heads.
• Cannon pod: replace the 65º slope underneath the wing with the belt feed magazine.
• Gun: stick the black tube in the hinge cylinder
• Bomb rack: a 1x2 tile will fit between the bar and the 1x4 plate.
Let me know if you have any trouble building.

Taking a break from the Modular Starfighter System, I wanted to really give DbM a try before they closed shop. The only time I really worked with the DbM palette was when I first discovered LDD and I quickly learned about Universe Mode and never looked back.
I figured a small 'swoosher'-style starfighter would fit the bill and not break the bank - boy was I wrong! All 185 pieces here can be yours for the modest sum of $50.66! Yikes! Maybe I'll go with a Rover instead! Seriously, I'm perfectly prepared to pay a modest premium for the convenience of having all the pieces I need packed up and shipped to me, but that's a bit ridiculous.
I tried coming up with a clever alternate starfightery meaning for the DbM acronym, but I'm home sick from work today with a 48-hour flu courtesy of my wife and daughter and the DayQuil is just not helping my thought process.
Anyway, as I got more into the design I realized I could probably build this thing out of the actual physical bricks in my collection, thus fully negating the need for DbM in the first place, and if I find the time I may do so.
If you want to play with it in the virtual world, download the DbM Swoosher LXF file.

I was taking apart my Outpost vig because it's taking up some 1 x 1 tiles I need for another project, and I did this in case I ever wanted to do another something like this.
So you have three essential sections, color coded to make it easier to see:
The blue and red bricks each are one half of the corner. The yellow bricks hold them together.

Just a little power build, as you may call it. I wanted to try this water surface in my renders, so I built this. This LEGO Tumbler was designed by me. I tried to make a Tumbler that was as close to the movie as possible and was minifigure scale. I also built this because LEGO no longer offered a black Tumbler set.

If you are interested in building this, I have posted the LEGO Digital Design file on mediafire, here. I have also posted this on lego.com, here. Just search for 'Batman 2 Seater Tumbler' in the creation name search box to download the file. If you do build it, I would love to hear what you think.

Finally got round to building this in real bricks! This is my rendition of the Balrog, the demonic monster from Lord of the Rings and one of the few things LEGO didn't produce in their set lineup, which prompted me to build this beast. It contains over 1,000 parts, and though difficult, it has a wide variety of poses. The chain which acts as the fire whip is held by means of craft wire, otherwise it would be rather floppy.

So I made a moc and decided halfway through that he was a pimp. Another exploration into the importance of color blocking, which is more important than layering; however, this uses both.

This Lego Technic Claw / Grabber connects to one Lego Mindstorms EV3 Medium Motor, or to a Lego Power Functions Large Motor. A central Worm Gear rotates four large 40-Tooth Gears to close the Technic Liftarm fingers. The design reminds me of 'The Claw' in the 1995 movie, 'Toy Story'. One can interchange the four fingers with other types to better grab the desired object. The surface of the planet Calamari was covered almost entirely by water. The dominant species of squid people were highly evolved and intelligent, becoming extremely rich from running a series of fishing businesses across the galaxy. They used jet powered sea skimmers, such as this one, to travel across the oceans at tremendous speeds.

This is the most advanced battle platform thus far. It consists of a Carrier Tank, slow, heavy and unimaginably strong and a sneaky little fighter capable of transforming into a small vertical tankette. There is an old idea behind this concept: a shield and a sword. While the tank is equipped with a powerful energy field generator and serves as a mobile dock for refueling and repairing, the fighter has a massive array of sensors and some really offensive weaponry on board.
The tank is actually an old model of mine, only two days earlier I had it in a WIP stage and now it is a part of that cool dynamic duo together with my mini starfighter! Has a room for eleven minifigs, lots of hatches all over and an independent wheel suspension. I thought it was a great idea to make something more than those usual boxes or bases. This model has a low sleek profile and I really like it, especially the front. I might even use it as an average heavy tank body later..

I was looking for an older model on my computer and accidentally found a cool Lego Universe rocket. I made it in Nexus Force colors, and added the Neo-Nexus Force logo. (this part: www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=15068pb004 ) To me, this rocket type looks like a beefier version of the standard Nexus Rocket (link to it on Bricklink: www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=55001-1 ) but in classic 1950's style, so I named it the Retro Rocket.

Built & designed in St. Louis Missouri, the Moon Motor Car produced 10,271 automobiles in it's peak year of 1925. This LEGO model is based off the 1922 6-40 type car, built in 1922. It is buildable in 14 diffirent colors, and is based on fellow LEGO builder Bricktrix's 'Rolls Royce Phantom II' SNOT chassis.

Hello again. I've created a working copy of a new cockpit box that I'll be using in LEGO Digital Designer for most of my minifig sized spacecraft. It took so long to get this working that I thought I'd share it with everybody. I made this display so anybody can put this together with a minimum of effort. I've only put this together inside LDD, but everything seems to work like it's supposed to. it's designed to fit a minifig, even if it's wearing something on its back too.
I have placed the LXF file that LDD uses onto Mediafire. This pic was taken from there. Here is the download link for the LXF file:
If you do use this cockpit box, just give me credit for the base of what you build from it.
If you make a better cockpit box based on this (which somebody will), let me know how!
Here's how the instructions go:
The instructions are read from top left to right in rows. Each step shows the build so far with new pieces added, and the pieces you'll need to its right, except for Step 1, because those pieces all go together to form Step 2.
The pink bricks you ABSOULTELY need at exactly the same size and shape for the connections to work, except for Step 1: the connections to the seat are secondary, but help strengthen the cockpit box.
Yellow bricks you can change somewhat, but the connections must stay the same. You can choose a larger brick to make more connections to the rest of what you plan to build, or choose a piece with a flat edge to eliminate some of the studs from showing. If you change a yellow brick, make sure that brick connects to every other piece throughout the instructions. It's easy to do if you look for the replaced brick to show up blue in later steps..
Blue bricks in each step are what you're connecting to in that step. It makes it much easier to see where everything goes.
White bricks don't connect to anything during that step.
Green bricks you can replace with pretty much anything, but these are the base bricks I use.
At the bottom is a turnaround view of the cockpit box in case your lose your place or are unsure where something goes.
Here is a list of the bricks you'll need:
Necessary (pink):
(4) Part #4274: Connector Peg W. Knob
(2) Part #44809: HTO V Beam 90 Degr. (These six bricks may be hard to find. I'm not sure. You can abandon this connection if needed, but it's a very useful connection for me.)
(1) Part #4598: Seat 2x3x2 (This you DO need.)
(4) Part #3023: Plate 1x2
(1) Part #3020: Plate 2x4
(1) Part #3004: Brick 1x2
(2) Part #4070: Angular Brick 1x1 (These two bricks are the key for attaching instrumentation panels and controls inside the cockpit.)
(1) Part #52107: Brick 1x2 W. Four Knobs
(2) Part #6231: Wall Corner 1x1x1
(2) Part #4865: Wall Element 1x2x1 (If you can find the ones with the displays printed on them, so much the better.)
(1) Part #6134: Plate 2x2 (Rocking)
(1) Part #3937: Rocker Bearing 1x2
(1) Part #30384: Cockpit 19 degrees bowed
Connection bricks (yellow):
(4) Part #47905: Brick 1x1 W. 2 Knobs
(4) Part #3024: Plate 1x1
(2) Part #4274: Connector Peg W. Knob
(1) Part #3710: Plate 1x4
(1) Part #3020: Plate 2x4
(3) Part #3022: Plate 2x2
(1) Part #52107: Brick 1x2 W. Four Knobs
(4) Part #3023: Plate 1x2
(2) Part #3004: Brick 1x2
(1) Part #85984 Roof Tile 1x2x2/3, ABS
Extra Bricks (green):
(4) Part #3024: Plate 1x1
(2) Part #6091: Brick W. Arch 1x1x1 1/3
(1) Part #3069: Flat Tile 1x2
(Building this arch seals the cockpit up nicely, but it can be done with a world of other shapes. This is just the simplest, and leaves room for a Space Suit that sticks out from the back of a minifig too.)
Total necessary parts: 50
Thanks for taking a look, and if this works for you, give me a 'Thanks' and point me to what you built. Have fun building!
